Full Bio

Sappho is a cross-cultural music project director, educator, and pianist.

She currently serves as Music Advisor at the London Youth Conservatoire and the London Borough of Hounslow Music Service, where her work spans music programming, event production, international cultural exchange, and education.

Events & International Projects

Her work spans concerts, touring, and festival projects in the UK and China. Selected highlights include the 2026 London Chinese New Year Concert, supported by the Chinese Embassy in the UK, as well as projects presented as part of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival.

She has also contributed to concert projects in China featuring leading international artists and ensembles, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Boys Choir.

Education & Masterclasses

Alongside her project work, Sappho designs and delivers masterclasses and workshops  in collaboration with partners in the UK and China, creating educational programmes that connect performance, artistic development, and cross-cultural exchange. Her collaborators include the Royal College of Music, the Oxford School of Drama, China Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Anhui University.

Her students have progressed to leading institutions including the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and Harrow School.

Background & Credentials

She holds master’s degrees from the Royal College of Music and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

She has served as an international student representative at the Royal College of Music, contributing to curriculum-related work, and is an Instrumental Ambassador for the UK’s Benedetti Foundation.

Interdisciplinary Practice

Beyond music, Sappho draws on a wide range of artistic and intellectual disciplines—photography, exhibitions, philosophy, and literature—and founded a podcast series to explore interdisciplinary cultural exchange in conversation with professionals across fields.

She continues to develop project-based forms that connect music with these contexts, building narratives and experiences that reveal music’s emotional depth and inner world.
